Epstein bought a more modest island - the Little St James - back in 1998, but subsequently obtained the larger adjacent island in the year 2016 for a sum of $22.5 million.
The released images reveal he had formulated plans to develop the substantial island by constructing homes, an amphitheatre, an submerged workspace and a pool.
You can see the plan is a local waterway, a waterway in the US Virgin Islands, marked on the south-eastern section.
This development map is covered in handwritten red notes and contains a legend identifying distinct parts of the estate.
